  • In the Outlook settings, find your SMTP details.

  • Now, choose ‘Outlook PST file’ and tap ‘Settings.’

  • Head to ‘Change password’ option in the new box.

  • Now in the Change Password box, write a new password.

  • Type it again to confirm it and tap ‘OK.’

 

Enable the Allow Less Secure Apps option.

Gmail deems Outlook less secure. That is why the Outlook send/receive error shows. You can disable this option to work with your account properly.

 

  • Sign into your Gmail account linked with Outlook.

  • Hit ‘Settings’ at the top-right part.

  • Tap ‘Accounts & Import’ on the settings page.

  • Now, tap ‘Other Google account settings’ in the next window. This option is beside ‘Change account settings:’

  • Tap ‘Settings’ in the subsequent page.

  • In the section ‘Less secure app access’, turn on ‘Allow less secure apps.’

  • Now you can send and receive emails in Outlook without this error.

Enter the correct login details

Incorrect login credentials like username and password commonly cause Outlook error 0x800ccc92. A simple way to prevent this error is to ensure that your login credentials are correct. 

 

  • Always enter your complete email address in Outlook as your username.

  • Now, ensure that the credentials for both incoming and outgoing mail servers are the same.

  • The password for both servers should also be the same.

 

Restore deleted items from their folder 

This is another way to fix this error message in Outlook. 

 

  • Access the ‘Deleted Items’ folder. 

  • Drag the PST files from this folder.

  • Right-tap on the ‘Deleted Items’ folder.

  • Now, select the ‘Empty’ icon.

Check add-ons and antivirus program

Sometimes, the Outlook send receive error can be due to interference by add-ins. So, disable them individually and see which fixes this problem.

 

It's also a good idea to see if your antivirus is causing this issue. To check if this is the problem, disable the antivirus program. Now begin Outlook in safe mode.
